The Afghan Hound was discovered by western travelers in Afghanistan in 1800. Later in this century, Afghanistan was brought to England. The Afghan History and Heritage before this point are virtually unknown, although there are some theories. Some believe that Afghanistan has lived in ancient Egypt, while others place of race in different regions of Asia. Aghani The dog has been used as a shepherd, hunter and dog dog. This coincided with the resurgence of the race which has received recognition by the American Kennel Club in 1926. To date, the Afghan Hound is a popular choice in exhibitions and family.
